Any idea on what to do? |
I would theorise that the installation of WMQv7.5 isn't tagged as the primary installation or in some other way isn't installed where WMB can see it.
I'd review the "Migrating from WMQv7.0" part of the WMQv7.5 documentation & see if you've missed a step. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

MQ7.5 is the only instance I have now on my system and hence it's primary by default
C:\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin64>dspmqinst
InstName: Installation1
InstDesc:
Identifier: 1
InstPath: C:\IBM\WebSphere MQ
Version: 7.5.0.2
Primary: Yes
State: Available
MSIProdCode: {38E913AA-0F10-434C-BEEC-7473D6C196E8}
MSIMedia: 7.5 Server
MSIInstanceId: 1

How I can be sure if WMB can see it or not? |

Solid point, but is there any migration aside from installing it? Something's made that service name change, which is indicative of it doing something in the registry.
I lack the practical experience of WMQv7.5 to be of more specific help. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Starting WMQ 7.1, the service name always takes the second form, which is "IBM WebSphere MQ (<Installation name>)", but the problem is that WMB checks upon starting for the old service name "IBM MQSeries", and fails when it doesn't find it.
This particular issue is fixed in version 8. Not sure why they didn't apply it to 7 as well!

Is there a way that I can return the service to the old name or maybe pass the new name to Broker upon installation? |

It's pretty poor that this 2012 issue wasn't also fixed in WMB 7 - especially as it relates to upgrading MQ (which is a prequisite to upgrading WMB in some cases).
For example I am about to update our primary installation from 701 to 7503, but not yet upgrade our WMB 7006 brokers.
Fortunately it's only Windoze affected, but annoying not to have a solution.
I suppose the only answer is to get IBM service to build you an interim fix for WMB 7006 and apply it before the MQ upgrade. _________________ Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before, and it has always been due to human error. |

I am running several versions but my WMB7 still runs in WMQ 7.0.1.x ...
Worth looking into, is the custom inserts / plugins for mqsiprofile where you can specifically set the mqenvironment...
Review infocenter preparing the runtime environment...
Have you also checked the dependencies on the broker service. Maybe you need to switch that to the right service...
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
