I installed IIB in windows 7 VM. I did not create any user for MQ or broker. before installation. When installation was completed, mqm/MUSER_MQADMIN group/user were created for MQ ( which is expected). For the broker, only a group called mqbrkrs is created. when I tried to run the default configuration, it failed and when I checked the log it seems that it failed due to the permission.
When i browse, document, did not find a clear instruction for the user id for broker. I remember, ( have not used broker for a while), that in Linux or unis, we add a user with the same name and that user is added to mqm group. But in current case, a VM admin is used to install MQ, Broker (IIB)) and to run the default configuration.
my IIB is the developer version.

There is no requirement for a specific userid on Windows, only that the userid is a member of the "mqbrkrs" group. What may have happened is that you did not log off and log on again after the install, so the installing user was not added to the mqbrkrs group properly (group membership is determined at log on in Windows).
