I see that the maximum message size that can be handled in SOAP nodes
as per the link "http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/#!/SSKM8N_8.0.0/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/an09148_.htm" is as below,

-n maxPostSize
•Initial value - 2097152 (2 megabytes)

So,by default max message size that can be handled by Broker is 2 MBytes. But want to know what is the maximum message size that can be handled by SOAPInput node or SOAPRequest node?

I am also surprised that with this default setting of maxPostsize, and with 2GB of JVM size in our Execution Group,we are able to respond back to the SOAPclients with 32MB data (using SOAP nodes)...
How is it possible..?

Check what is the value for maxPostSize set on your execution group, it might be set to 0 or an empty string which will negate the limit on the size of data.

Also, stop confusing the request size with the response size.

The request goes through a number of filters before it gets processed. The response is poured down an open socket.
