I would like to use the MB/IIB Global cache to support a typical MB(or IIB)/MQ Hub processing setup in an Active-Active configuration with site separation of 11 miles.
Since the Global Cache can be shared across Broker instances (or IIB Nodes in IIB terminology) I cannot find any documented reason why the 2 MB intsances (IIB nodes) cannot be in separate locations.
The cache will primarily be read-only (it will be populated at start of day from file) but with intermittent updates.
I know that the MB/IIB implementation of WXS ONLY supports Synchronous Shard replication so depending on the site separation, inter-site connectivity infrastructure, and the update frequency, there could be latency issues with the MB/IIB flows, the MB/IIB WXS implementation, or WXS itself (maybe WXS has some internal heartbeating).

I cannot find any technical reason why this should not work but likewise I can't find any instances of it actually being done.

Any advice/help would be much appreciated.

@Old Lag - did you ever deploy embedded global cache across two data centres?

I have recently joined a company where by embedded global cache is about to be used across two data centres. However the documentation specifically states that multi-master replication to synchronize grids in different data centers is not supported using the embedded cache, and I have concerns.

If anyone has had experience with this, any feedback would be appreciated.

I might be wrong but 'Old Lag' does seem to have posted here for quite some time. It might be that 'Old Lag' no longer reads this forum.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
