I wana implement webservices security to my own user-defined service . Is that possible ? can i create a service of my own which provides response only to the authenticated users ?? If so , how ??

An external security provider is required for the Web service identity authentication. A security profile is used to specify whether authentication, authorization, and identity mapping and propagation are performed on the identity of messages in the message flow.

The only way to forgo external security provider is to use X509 certs ... (and even then isn't the CA authority considered to be an external security provider ?? )
