Hi Experts,

In our organization, we are using Symantec Netbackup as backup tool to take the backup of WebSphere MQ 7.0 and Message Broker 7.0 file system...

I would like to know that is it possible to restore the Message Broker file system (symantec netback) using mesirestorebroker command.

It seems that if you take the message broker backup using mqsibackuproker command then only you can able to restore the message broker backup using mesirestorebroker command.

Could you share your view on this...

Thanks/Uditara

I wouldn't expect mqsirestorebroker to be able to do anything other than restore backups made by mqsibackupbroker.

If you're backing up using a different tool, then you should probably restore using that same tool. You should also consider what it is you're backing up, whether the broker is running. A backup of a running broker may result in an inconsistent broker backup (files change while the broker is running).

If you use mqsibackupbroker, you should consider what it doesn't backup (see the command in the online help). The mqsibackupbroker can be used while the broker is running so long as you're not deploying configuration changes to it.
