Should the runmqtmc automatically reconnect to a server where the MQ QMGR is installed? I noticed when bouncing the QMGR that servers which only have MQ Client and utilized the runmqtmc for client triggering, those runmqtmc processes disconnect and go away, but do not reconnect. Current Environment is WMQv7.5.0.2 on Linux. |

I don't believe that the trigger monitors do reconnect if they lose connection I'm afraid. Hopefully I'm wrong but I can't picture the code. The trigger monitors originally were quite heavily based on sample AMQSTRG0.C which doesn't reconnect. Of course it's always possible that it have been added over the years. It would be fairly simple to do a test and verify that it doesn't.
However, although I've never tried it, I would have thought the trigger monitor was an ideal candidate for automatic client reconnect so if you reconfigure your CCDT for this client connection it may work. I suspect it will all depend on whether the trigger monitor is built as a threaded program.
If that doesn't work then wouldn't be too hard to modify the sample source file AMQSTRG0.C to add it, either explicitly or using default client reconnect.
I can't remember the subject of the client trigger monitor coming up before but, on hind-sight, it seems quote surprising that the base MQ product doesn't do it.
Cheers,
Paul. _________________ Paul Clarke
