All,
We have MQ7.5 on Linux.
We have access to the linux OS using putty, and ids got added to the corresponding mqm groups.
We are able to administer the MQ from Putty.
I have a laptop, that I can connect to the office network, but this is not clients laptop. I want to configure the qmgr using the locally installed MQ Explorer.
What are the possibilities ?
When I tried to configure, I am getting an error states: "You are not authorized."
Thanks in advance. |

You need to create a CHLAUTH rule for the specific channel to block some ID like "nobody". A rule like that allows everybody except "nobody" to use the channel. BTW you need to create a channel that does not start with SYSTEM. You got blocked because your ID is probably in mqm group and there is a default rule to reject all IDs connecting with that authority.
If you are going to allow that, then you should also secure the channel with SSL. Use a CHLAUTH rule to map each client certificate to a local ID on the box. |

Is my understanding is correct ?
So for this to connect, we need to create Channel SSL from the MQ server to the laptop I use ?
Please advise. |

Not quite. You need both the chlauth record and the SSL feature! _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
