While reading the MQ manual, I came to know that in WebSphere MQ for z/OS using CICS if we want to start the next message with sequence number 100, then we need to reset the sequence number to 99. Anyone can tell me the reason behind this? |

The channel uses the number n as the last sequence number ,to mark a successful message sent across ,so when the channel restarts the current number will be n plus one ,to ensure the trasmission of the next message in the proper order of sequence . |

Sequence numbers of messages on channels are transparent to CICS and another app that uses MQ. Why are you concerned about them? _________________ Glenn |

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |
