Hello,
On the IBM site, I have seen that the MQWF version used for the certification was V3.2.1
http://www-1.ibm.com/certify/certs/mqsewkfl.shtml
I would like to have confirmation of that because V3.2.1 seems a quiet old version.
Indeed, there are some major difference between version 3.2.1 and 3.3.2 (For instance, in V3.2.1, I think that web client was a support pac not included in the product).
So, does anybody know if V3.2.1 is still today the right version for MQWF certification ?
In complement, I would like to know if you have questions about the MQWF JAVA API and XML interface, Web client architecture ?
THX FOR HELPING. |

When the certification test was developed 321 was the current MQWF release. Whether or not the test has been updated I don't know, but if that's what the Certification site says regarding the test than I assume that it has NOT been updated.
The largest percentage of question on the test revolve around understaning the MQWF Objects (think of Buildtime here), and this has changed very little. The only major items that come to mind right away are the Audit filtering, and the Audit to Queue facilities that were introduced with V330. And again, unless there has been an update to the test these are not covered.

If by this you mean are there questions relating to the Java API, XML interface and Web client archetecture. As I recall there were none when the original test was developed. In fact there are NO API related questions on the test at all. I believe at one point there was a plan to have a 2nd MQWF test based on the API, but if it was developed, it has never been published. _________________ John McDonald

Gabbar:
Unfortunately I never took the test.... I was on the team that developed it, which made me ineligible to take the test, but on the upside, gave me automatic certification....
The best resources for the test are:
Admin Manual
Buildtime Manual
Runtime Manual
Concepts and Architecture manual
Install manual (first 4 chapters)
The book "Production Workflow" by Leyman and Roller (first 4 or 5 chapters I dont have access to my copy at the moment)
EXPERIENCE using BUILDTIME
The bulk of the test is based on a knowledge of Buildtime and the Database objects. There are other questions that deal with different configurations etc, but my guess is that about 70% of the test is based on Buildtime.
At one point they were thinking of doing a 2nd test for the API, but I dont believe this ever got done.
GOOD LUCK _________________ John McDonald
