Hi,

We are using broker 8 on linux.

today we see an issue where none of the mqsi commands were working even though we see all broker files/file systems.

[mqadmin@xyxv]/var/mqsi/trace>mqsilist
BIP1281I: No brokers have been defined on this machine.
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.

[mqadmin@xyxv]/var/mqsi/trace>mqsistart ABC_BRK
BIP8013E: Broker 'ABC_BRK' does not exist.
A broker can be used only if it has already been created.
No user action required.

any suggestions?

How about you try executing these commands with an id with it's primary group = mqbrkrs ?

Did you source mqsiprofile first?

The output would be entirely different if either of those had not been done correctly.

I'm reasonably sure that the issue is that the *wrong* mqsiprofile was applied, and that an mqsilist -a will show the source of the confusion.

Yes, we found out that some body tampered with mqsiprofile file.

we are going to copy this file from other broker server to this one.
