Hello Guys,

Could you please let me know the steps to migrate the WMQ from 7.0 to 7.5?

Please let me know if we need to upgrade websphere application server to 8.5 as well before WMQ upgrade to 7.5

Thanks,
Reddy.

It is very clearly laid out in the Info Center, so click on that link I gave you (but always look in the Info Center first for your answers).

Upgrade of WAS? Well, depends on what version WAS is... Do them one at a time so you know what breaks what. I did come across a quirk of WAS 7.0 when I upgraded WMQ to 7.5 and a fix exposed the fact the the MQ Client stuff was not really getting updated with WAS fixes. I mentioned it more clearly in some other post at this site.

There is no strict dependency between MQ client versions and MQ server versions.

All currently supported versions of either will inter-operate (and probably with some earlier versions as well).

For clarity, if your WMQ client application makes use of WMQ version-specific features, like MessageProperties, the server version of WMQ must support these.

And every once in a while you hit a quirk like this and have to apply a fix as well.
