Uninstallation MQV6 error

HI , I am getting the Following error when i tried to Uninstall MQV6
rpm -ef MQSeriesJava-U827380-6.0.2-9
ERROR: Unable to find backup directory, which contains the
uninstall data files. The directory should be located at:
"/opt/mqm/maintenance/6.0.2.9/MQSeriesJava/backup"
This maintenance pack cannot be uninstalled.
Aborting uninstall.
error: %preun(MQSeriesJava-U827380-6.0.2-9.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 1

How can i forcefully uninstall this and Install V7 again.

Plz help

I ran into this today myself while trying to uninstall MQ 6.0.1. I am not sure what the "correct" solution is but what i ended up doing was copy everything under /opt/mqm/maintenance/6.0.2.9/MQSeriesSDK from a similar system. Then tried to perform a removal again and it kind of worked. I had to manually remove "/opt/mqm/maintenance/6.0.2.9" afterward and all appears to be ok.

Currently running on 7.1.0 fixpack 3

MQSeriesServer-7.1.0-0.x86_64
MQSeriesServer-U855941-7.1.0-3.x86_64

You will probably be OK.

If you have issues and get no help, you can always TAR up the data and log directories of the Qmgr and restore them to a cleanly built machine of the same OS. You might need to also restore or update the mqs.ini file.

Sometimes, you just have to use a bigger hammer.
