No broker events are being written the user.log file. We added the following line to the file /etc/syslog.conf being careful to add a TAB instead of a space user.debug /var/mqsi/user.log killed the syslog.pid and there are no entries being written. Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you touch the file user.log. Is the user.log file created if not, you would have to go to that directory and touch the file.

Yes I touched the file and it was created.

I hit the same problem.

-rw-r----- 1 user group 0 Jan 9 16:52 user.log

somehow stop the broker, touch the file again and start the broker, messages start logging in.
