I guess from the lack of response that my post is not very interesting, somehow insulting or just not an answerable question. So is are there any 'other' resources out there that anyone can suggest for me to see if there is a solution to what I am trying to accomplish?
Thanks
Eric

I am wondering if I can, somehow, use MS SQL Server to access a queue manager and put/get messages from it's queues using MQAX? I am trying to avoid going throught MSMQ and have MQ Series Server installed on the save box as SQL Server.
I am hoping to replace the polling method currently in use, via a VB6 application and would like to use a combination Queue Trigger/Table Triggered System.
An example of what i'm looking for: table (insert/update) trigger puts some data into a queue or if a message is put into a queue it triggers a SQL processes. I saw some examples at IBM's site using Oracle but this system is MS SQL only. |

I don't think your question is "not very interesting", "insulting", or "unanswerable", but I personally was unable to respond to it as I don't have much experience with MS SQL Server. I'm guessing some other users here do, but it's not going to be very many, since it seems like Oracle is the predominant database being utilized in conjunction with MQSeries.
You may have better luck in a MS SQL Server forum, but there you'll have to contend with the fact that most are using MSMQ as their transport mechanism.
Another strategy is to respost your question in a different form, like asking what MQAX is, and where you can find additional resources for it. It's likely that more people will be able to help you with this question, and it might steer you in the direction of your overall question regarding MS SQL Server and MQSeries. _________________ Brandon Duncan

You could also try the IBM sponsored news groups. See:
http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=427&highlight=newsgroups
for details. I keep an eye on both the news groups and this forum. It seems like there is more traffic here. However, I do know that some of the MQ developers watch the news groups. It is worth a shot....
Like Brandon, you are also outside of my area of expertise. |
