I have a JMS client sending messages to only 3 MQ Qmgrs in a cluster with 50+ Qmgrs. We need to use MQ AMS for message security.

This is a new application with 2 options
option 1 , JMS client/MQ as JMS provider on the same server which is not a member of the Qmgr cluster. This Qmgr will MQM channel connect to the cluster.
option 2 , JMS client connecting to any one of the Qmgrs in the clsuter.
We are new to MQ AMS. I think once the message is securred by AMS, it is just a regular MQ message.

For option 1 , we need to configure AMS on the JMS client and also AMS on the MQ Server which the JMS client connects to. We also need only to configure AMS on the 3 receiving Qmgrs. We do not need AMS on any other QMGRs within the cluster.Even there is a possibility the message can be routed through them.

Option 2 is more or less the same except that we have to have AMS configured on all of the QMGRs that the JMS client can connect to. (It is using CCDT, so all Qmgrs specified in the CCDT) and just the 3 receving Qmgrs.

Can someone help to confirm if this is right ? We need to plan the AMS work which is new to us.
