Good morning everyone.
Currently looking to modify a message flow where I need to add a new data element to the matching reply of the request. So, a request is sent and new value is saved somehow so that it can be attached to the reply of that request. I cannot send the new data element as part of the original request message because the receiving application doesn't want to make changes for the new element (they don't need it). This new data element will be used after the reply is received. So, I didn't what would be best to "store" this data element and reattach it to the message once the reply is received. My initial though it to store the value in a database and the use request msgid and correlation msg ID to do a lookup when the reply is received. Seems like more work the necessary?
Thanks

If you're on v8 or v9 then the ExtremeScale Cache is the best place to store short-lived correlation data. _________________ Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away, and you have their shoes too. |

Or a simple aggregation?
A lot easier if you system does not have Global Cache configured. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Sorry I should have mentioned WMB 7.0.0.5.
I was also reading up on Local and wondering if LocalEnvironment.Variables is something to look at as well.
Thanks,

Not LocalEnvironment. That's only available for the lifetime of the node.
Environment might do the job - but only if you're sure that the reply message will always be processed by the same execution group as the request. _________________ Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away, and you have their shoes too. |
