Hey,
I have a scenario here...
Objective is to install the mq server base version 6.0.0.0. (on AIX5.3) and upgrading it to MQv6.0.2.8.
In the first attempt Installing the mq base version was done perfectly fine. And was able to create the 'test' qmgr. BUT when I was trying to upgrade the version 6.0.2.8, it gave me the error saying :
Code: |
------------------
SELECTED FILESETS: The following is a list of filesets that you asked to
install. They cannot be installed until all of their requisite filesets
are also installed. See subsequent lists for details of requisites.
#1 mqm.msg.en_US 6.0.2.8 # WebSphere MQ Messages - U.S....
MISSING REQUISITES: The following filesets are required by one or more
of the selected filesets listed above. They are not currently installed
and could not be found on the installation media.
(Selected filesets which depend upon these requisites are referenced in
parentheses.)
mqm.msg.en_US 6.0.0.0 # Base Level Fileset
(dep #s: 1)
<< End of Failure Section >>
|
When I checked the File 'mqm.msg.en_US' in the untar-ed folder, it was there. BUT it was not showing while selecting the package from SMIT.
-rw-rw-r-- 1 226 12201 289792 May 20 2005 mqm.msg.en_US
Here is the snap for that, using SMIT :
Question here is, can we install the fileset mqm.msg.en_US after the mq base version 6.0.0.0 is installed ?
If yes, then How ?
If no, then what's the solution for this ?
Is this 'mqm.msg.en_US' fileset not there in the base version of mq v6.0.0.0 ?
If this 'mqm.msg.en_US' fileset was not there in the base version of mq v6.0.0.0 then in which APAR or Fixpack it was introduced ?

I'm surprised you have a base 6.0.0.0 install. You would have had to download, and then retain, the original installation package, as there has been at least one full refresh pack (if not two or three) since 6.0.0.0 was released.
Regardless, the best thing to do is uninstall 6.0.0.0 entirely, and then download the latest full install package and install that - making sure to install any and all filesets that you want to fixpack - and then apply the latest fixpack. |

If you go back a level in smit and select "Install and Update from ALL Available Software" instead of "Install Software" then all the mqm.msg.Xx_YY filesets are displayed. Alternatively use installp from the command line. _________________ Philip Morten

You can see an Option when you use SMIT , to " install and update from ALL available software ", as soon as you select that option you may need to go to the location where your binary of product is placed ., there you can find the available packages (which are required while upgrade) in the SMIT tool itself.
Or as suggested by mqjeff

In this case , you package would be for v7.0.1.10. _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |
