Need some help.
I am working back and forth with MQ Admins.
I am seeing DB comnect errors when a compute node with PASSTHRU SQL is invoked in a flow.
However, admins are insisting that the broker id can connect to the database.
Is there a way to debug the connect parameters and discover the root cause on why there is this discrepancy ?
I am suspecting the promoted property/ build / deploy process, but I need help with an approach to help find the root acuse.

Thanks.

A user trace can help show the ODBC Connection that the flow is trying to use

The 'mqsicvp' command can test the ability to connect to the database.
Some types of ODBC connection can test the ODBC level connection.

Any more help is going to require you to give us a whole load more information.

Thanks. Let me start with asking the Admins to set up a user trace.
If needed, I will get back with the necessary information.
Thanks

YOU need to set up the user trace.

Unfortunately, we are not given access or the tools to set up user trace. This is on a remote broker.

This is a common situation.

@dogorsy - if the OP worked in my environment, and was anywhere other than his development environment, he's wouldn't have the access needed to run a user trace.

I understand. I have been in that situation. And the answer is: debug it yourself.

Who's "yourself" in this context?

...and we don't do it just to annoy developers (though it's a happy side effect).

The OP mentions the brokers are remote; I don't know what is meant by that but I have vendor development teams who are remote to my brokers and are not allowed to our network. Teams within my organization are not allowed administrative access to brokers outside their development environments because those environments are shared within the organizations and not only do outages caused by fat fingered admin commands cost money (and I struggle to eliminate them from the admin team) but the audit function do not permit that kind of access.

When the situation arises they, like the OP, are required to work with the admins to obtain the details they need. It's their code and their problem, and we will assist. Attempt to suggest that it's our problem because we own the tools, we will assist you out of the door (or feed you to the auditors).

You want full & unconstrained access to the tools, find a site with fewer audit and environmental constraints. Or a site where the admins do development (another common situation and indeed operated by my previous employers).

Any number of geo-social or economic factors may prevent that.
