when trying to download ib9, website points to:
WebSphere Message Broker (Runtime) for Windows on x86-64
8.0.0-WS-MB-WINX64-FP0001-DEVELOPER-RUNTIME.zip (1.07 GB)
is it v8 or v9 we need to download? |

IIB (WMB V9) is currently only available on Passport Advantage. Although there is a remarkable resemblance to WMB V8 toolkit. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

It appears that the Trial version for V9 is still not yet available.
As my esteemed colleague says, it is available via PAssport Advantage etc.
I have it running on a VM so I can assure you that it is available. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

I download 8.0.0-WS-MB-WINX64-FP0001-DEVELOPER-RUNTIME.zip and
8.0.0-WS-MB-WINX64-FP0001-DEVELOPER-TOOLKIT.zip.
Are these V9 or I need something else? |

How could they be v9 when they are clearly labeled both v8 and WMB.
V9 is IIB, not WMB, and it is numbered "9.0.0.0", not "8.x.x.x". |

Ah - whats a few version numbers between friends.
V8 + a new node or two + nomenclature update = V9.
If you want IIB (WMB V9) you need to login to Passport Advantage. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

There is no trial version for v9; there's a Developer Edition and it's not GA yet. I'm told soon.

downloaded iib9 from partnerword.
go these files:
MQ_WIN_V7.5.0.1_FOR_IIB_V9.0.zip - 367498KB -- installed quick and nice.
IIB_V9.0_WINDOWS_X86-64.zip - over 9366636KB -- installed quick and nice.
IIB_TOOLKIT_V9.0_WINDOWS.zip - over 2078056KB -- takes hours to unzip on a very strong laptop WIN7 PRO. In fact unzip is stuck dead !!!
IBM_ODM_DS_V8.5_WIN_32-64_IM_REPO.tar - over 2931630KB --- What is this file for? What to do with it? |

WMB Explorer is inside the Runtime. There is a directory for it. Not hard to find.
The rules engine is OPTIONAL and AFAIK, required additional licenses. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

To be clear, it's a copy of WebSphere Operational Decision Management.
It's used from the DecisionService node, which can also function *without* WODM.
Use of WODM does indeed require license for the same as far as I know, but only your IBM sales rep can make authoritative statements on that. |

Yep. I was just quoting an IBM'er who said just that at the User Group Meeting in Hursley on the 16th. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

I really meant to stop by that, as I happened to be in town.
However, my sleep cycle was so screwed up that I'd get back to my hotel room at 5, planning to sit for ten minutes, and wake up 4 hours later thinking I should maybe find some food.
It's an interesting value of 'fun' going from between MDT, EDT and GMT all within the same week. |
