I noticed recently as we started using the QueueManager in production that there were lot ogf Ghose Queues created under the /var/mqm/qmgrs/QueueManagerName/queues directory. They were just sitting there not being used. My question is why do these kind of Queue get created and is it safe to delete them without having to restart the QueueManager? Thanks for all the input.

What sort of names did these queues have? Did they look like they were created by a human, or were they perhaps dynamic queues created by the queue manager? Also, can you see this queues from within runmqsc by typing the 'dis ql(*)' command? If so, see if they have any IPPROCs or OPPROCs (processes connected to them). My guess is that they are permanent dynamic queues and may have been orphaned because the application which created them never removed them... _________________ Brandon Duncan
