Hi,

I have MQSeries 5.3 installed on AIX.
Till yesterday before the reboot of the AIX server all of my MQ stuff was working but today when i issued "dspmq" it gave me this error
************************************************
2 - 'A file or directory in the path name does not exi' from /var/mqm/mqs.ini
AMQ6090: WebSphere MQ was unable to display an error message FFFFFFFF.
AMQffff
*********************************************
Then i issued strmqm test, it gave me a AMQ6109 error

I am not able to create new queue managers also. When tried it gave me a AMQ8101 error.

Also there are no logs for the queue managers ( i had 2 queue managers). The /var/mqm has 2 directories log and errors which are empty!!
I am really surprised..It feels as though, i didn't have any queue managers defined.

I am unable to proceed further. Your inputs would be of great help.

Thanks in Advance.

Cheers,
Vishal Agrawal

Hi Guys,

The issue is solved. The problem was, after the reboot of the AIX server, the unix admins forgot to mount MQ specific data files..that's the reason i couldn't see the logs. Once they did..i had everything working.
So, next time when any of u face this kind of a probelm...u know what to do

After this entire episode, there are a few questions that i have.

1) Is there a way to backup stuff in MQ? I have heard of fuzzy backup and complete backup, but never used it. Any manuals/PDFs that give an insight?

2) I have MQSeries 5.3 installed on AIX 4.3.3 i don't have any CSD's or PTF's installed? Is it needed?

Thanks,
Vishal Agrawal
