Hi. I realise that your post is quite old, so you have probably solved this problem by now. But if not, or if other members come across the same problem, here are a few things that you could try. (I've not been able to re-create the problem, but hopefully one of these methods will do the trick. I tried these steps using Google Chrome version 27.0.1453.116 m.)
Change the language settings for the browser:
(1) Click the "Customize and control Google Chrome" icon in the top-right corner of the browser, then select Settings.
(2) Click Show advanced settings.
(3) Click Language and input settings.
(4) If Spanish is selected, select English, then click Display Google Chrome in this language. If English isn't in the list, click Add then select it.
(5) Also check the order in which the languages appear. Google Chrome uses the list of languages in this order. So if English is below Spanish in the list, drag English to the top of the list.
(6) Click Done.
Set the language on the Google search settings web page
(1) Go to this URL: http://www.google.co.uk/preferences?hl=en#languages, click Languages, then set the Google text field and the search results field to English.
Set the International English Google search page as your home page
(1) Click the "Customize and control Google Chrome" icon in the top-right corner of the browser, then select Settings.
(2) Under "Appearance", select Show Home button.
(3) Click Change next to "New Tab page".
(4) Select Open this page, then type in the URL of the International English Google search page: http://www.google.com/intl/en/
(5) Click OK.
Change the search engine address
(1) Right-click the Google Chrome address bar and select Edit search engines.
(2) Right-click the URL next to the Google entry, and click Copy.
(3) In the "Add a new search engine" field, type a name for your new English version of Google, then type your choice of keyword in the "Keyword" field. The values in these fields must be different from the existing search engines.
(4) Paste the URL that you copied from the default Google entry in the URL field, then replace {google:baseURL} with http://www.google.com/ .
(5) Click Done. |
