I'm converting an XML message to text fixed-space message using the MRM domain in wmb V8.
I know I'm being lazy here and supposed to use DFLD but I was pressed for time and wanted to get this working without having to learn a new domain and any inherent "oppertunities".
So the message converts to the MRM format and passes the validation node with no errors but never reaches the output queue and the debugger crashes everytime the message goes to the output queue. The user trace doesn't show any parsing errors, it shows that all the fields match to the MRM elements.

Have you 'ditched' the debugger and tried UserTrace?
The problem with the debugger is that it never tells you where in the code that was previously executed that you went wrong. A trace output can do that.
I'd add a few trace nodes and then see what happens with the debugger disconnected. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
Yeah, I use debugger (or user trace) for structural questions "Did it call that node? did it go through that branch of code?", and trace node for data problems "What does the tree look like?".

I don't blame you for taking the path of least resistance when you were pushed for time. However, the problems that you are now hitting tend to be a lot easier to resolve if you are using DFDL - the diagnostics are a *lot* better than MRM's.
As already stated, next step is to take a debug-level user trace ( and read it - carefully ).
