In WMB 8 the broker doesn't record in its log the user ID that initiated the administrative change. I think it should and opened an RFE. Details at the following link.

Please vote if you think its a good idea. _________________ Peter Potkay

At the beginning of an administrative series of messages, the runtime records the user who requested the action:
Quote: |
BIP2873I: The user 'mqm' has requested a deploy of the BAR file... |
The user Id is not included in all messages, just the first message of the action. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

Huh, there are no entries in my log with any kind of ID mentioned. There are no BIP28731 messages. There have been dozens of deploys done over the past few weeks, plus things like Execution Group or Message Flow stops and restarts.

Hmm, I wouldn't think this is different. When you look at your broker runtime through a WMBE client, you will see these messages in the 'Administration Log' pane. Its BIP2873I not BIP28731. Eye not one. You can also see same messages in /var/adm/log or wherever your pointing your broker to log stdout. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

This might not be recorded for mqsideploy commands, particularly if the mqsideploy command is run by the broker service user. |

Sorry, typo in my reply. No hits on BIP2873I in this log.
I lost access to that z/Linux Lab Broker - they are testing the upgrade process and are restoring the server.
So I got a WMB 8.0.0.2 Broker running on Windows 2008. Using MBX and its Admin Log panel I can see the user ID of who is initiating a change whether its thru their own MBX session or thru the Toolkit.
You would think they would have mentioned this option in the PMR....
Once I get that z/Linux system back up to WMB 8 I'll need to retry this again to see if its behaving differently between Windows and z/Linux. Or maybe the logging isn't set up exactly right on that z/Linux Broker but MBX will show the details I need. _________________ Peter Potkay
