We are supporting Message broker V7 on AIX and told by management that we will have to look after MB on Z/OS (V7 or soon due to organization merge, We have not worked on Z/OS before. Just wondering if some oen can share some experience with us. There seem to be no specific WMB training on Z/OS, all trainings are on distribted platform. On the IBM education site for broker developer, it says that labs are on distributed platform only
Can someone help us to confirm the following
1. BAR files are compatible. We did some searching on the forum, it seems that bar file can be deployed to execution groups on AIX or Z/os with no change (unless the message flow in bar fiel use platform specific nodes such as VSAM nodes on Z/os)
2. For trace node or file nodes that need to specify file with path information. It seems that MB on ZOS is using UNIX like paths. Is Z/OS actually runs on the UNIX side of Z/OS
3. I hope we administer the ZOS broker using MB explorer and the MQ explorer like in AIX.
4.Can some one point us to some good readin material on The Zos message broker
5. I noticed that there are 2 performance report on MB on Z/os. One is for MB on Z/os and one is for MB on Linux (Z-series). Is the later one just WMB on Linux running on UNIX side on Z/os and not using any of the Z/os service where as WMB on Z/os actually runs under Z/os (with part of it using UNIX Services). I only have limited Z/os back ground. Please help me to understand this.

Go to your boss right now and explain you do not have a prayer. I would help you if I could but this is doomed. Better to come up with a Plan B! I would start talking with the z/OS guys today.
