After importing a copybook, I added a namespace to the model. When I convert the flat record layout to XMLNSC, the namespace is only applied to the root element.

I cannot seem to find in the DFDL modeling editor where to change the default namespaces for local objects like the Message Definition Editor allows.

I can however edit the XSD (in the text editor) and add attributeFormDefault="unqualified" elementFormDefault="qualified"

But it seems as though this should be available in the tooling.

Fair comment - there are some 'refactoring' features that DFDL needs...

...but you have just exploited one of DFDL's strengths. It is absolutely fine to open the xsd and edit it using your favourite text editor / XSD editor because the modelling language is a published, open standard and it will not change from release to release in the way that a proprietary standard ( like MRM ) might.

I am curious why this is not the default behavior. I assumed if I added a namespace it would apply to all the elements not just the root.
