I have 2 aix boxes - qm1 & qm2 that I want to setup SSL connections to a windows platform - we will call qm3. The question I have is when the certificates are exported from the aix qmgrs to the windows qmgr (one way authentication) does the naming convention of the certificate label have to be 'ibmwebspheremqqm3 of the windows platform or ibmwebspheremqqm1 and ibmwebspheremqqm2 of the aix qmgrs? _________________ THANKS

I assume from this that you are using self-signed certificates and that you are not going to have a personal certificate for the Windows queue manager?

The label name requirement for queue managers is clearly documented in the Info Centre _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.

The strict label naming convention only applies to the certificate that identifies the queue manager itself. So in the key repository for QM1, the certificate for QM1 must have the label ibmwebspheremqqm1. The certification for QM2 can be called anything you like on the QM1 system.
Cheers
