All product prerequisites are included in the download package. The Developer Edition includes WebSphere MQ Version 7.5, rather than WebSphere MQ Version 7.0.1, which is included with the full edition of Message Broker Version 8.0.0.1. |
since this developer edition is free, what does that mean for the included WebSphere MQ? and what about WebSphere MQ Developer Edition?
interesting developments, but also confusing from a licensing point of view... _________________ Michael

This edition is available on Windows x86-64 and Linux x86-64 operating systems, and is provided for evaluative purposes only. |
So, what does "evaluative purposes" allow and not allow? Below 3 thoughts of mine about it, no idea if it are correct statements.
- Learning for certification ? yes
- Pilot project to see if WMB is a possible solution for a business case: yes
- Developing flows for a customer who has a own (commercial) version of WMB ? no ???
IMHO the last one is not "evaluative purposes", it's a commercial business activity, however, the name is "Developer edition" and then developing with it seems logical ...
Ok, time to read the license, instead of clicking it away after 0.5 seconds ...

Developer Limitation
If the Program is designated as for "Developers", the Program can only be deployed as part of Licensee's internal development and unit testing on a developer machine. A developer machine is a physical or virtual desktop environment, running a primary operating system and the Program, both of which are accessible and used by no more than one specified developer. Licensee is not authorized to use the Program for processing production workloads, simulating production workloads or testing scalability of any code, application or system. Licensee is not authorized to use any part of the Program for any other purposes without acquiring the appropriate production entitlements. |
