Hi,

I am very new to Message Broker. I have installed the trial versions of MB, most part is successful. I am following the redbook 'Websphere Message Broker Basics' to configure and to further continue learning. I had a stop with database.. I am not sure if the database is must and if 'Derby' is internal. I am trying to install 'DB2 data server' trial version but not sure how to install. Redbook has not shown any seperate installation of DB software. Can someone help me please ?

You do not need Derby or any other database with any version of Broker at least version 7 or later.

It is unfortunate that this Redbook has not been updated to mention version 7 or version 8.
