Hi,
I am unable to connect to Mb7 broker via toolkit and also unable to access the queue manager through Rfhutil ..
Error - Access issue
Can anyone suggest, if this error is because USERID's are not entered into SYSTEM.BROKER.AUTH Queue ? I assume, like ACL entries are required in MB v6 similarly user need to have entry into this AUTH.QUEUE before connecting to MB7 brokers, QM's |

If you did not setup the WMB runtime, contact whomever did, like a System Admin.
If you did setup the WMB runtime, refer to the Installation Guide and accomplish the step-by-step instructions under "Preparing The System". _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

Thanks for you reply...
I did not perform the wmb runtime setup....and unfortunately dont have admin contacts... It is kinda new setup here.
I was just given the MB7 brokers which I have to access for my various environments and while accessing the broker I was getting the below error so just thought of flagging it my mentioning userID's not entrered in SYSTEM.BROKER.AUTH Queue, if this sounds the exact reason in this case ? |

If you are connecting to remote Broker runtimes, System Admins may need to add your Id to the access list. It all depends on the settings chosen when the installation of the Broker runtime occurred. Nonetheless, you are dependent on someone else, contact that person. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

Please don't make any changes to the contents of SYSTEM.BROKER.AUTH.QUEUE directly.
Please use the appropriate methods to manage the appropriate authorities. |

I am trying to acces remote broker only.
Since broker runtime has not been provided in Local machine so cannot create brokers myself and investigate.
As u suggested beow, 'System Admins may need to add your Id to the access list ' ...Can you tell what all process involved in adding IDs to access list ??
Does it relate anywhere adding ID's to SYSTEM.BROKER.AUTH queue or I am flagging totally wrong from access perspective ?
In short, I want to know how what process user should follow to get full access to remote v7 brokers ?? ...
For ex; ACL entries are pre-reuqisite in v6 to grant level of access , what is the same in v7 ? |

In my organization, we submit a filled access request form through our supervisor to the help desk. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

Okies...In my case , I have given list of User ID' which require access to my manager and have raised the request through system, not sure who will pick it up and complete the task.
I am trying to understand here , what /how the access to v7 brokers need to be given in Linux/Unix environment ?
Currently, when i try to access the remote brokers/QM's , I get error stating - not authorize access;error getting queue names:( |

The broker administrator runs the documented command to provide the necessary access. |

WMB 7 uses MQ authorities granted by setmqaut commands.
There are a number of caveats surrounding MQ authorities especially on Unix. Suffice it to say that it's best to set a specific unix group for this purpose and add users to that group, then permit the group to the resource. |
