All,
I was just reading EclipseSource email that I get (Issue # 77) and near the bottom I noticed a plugin called: MisterQ Explorer. I thought "Humm, that almost sounds like MQ Explorer, I wonder what it does?"
Low and behold, it is a play on MQ Explorer. Christian Märkle has created an Eclipse for administering MQ. His little spin on MisterQ Explorer is that if a message is a Java object then it can parse the message. Personally, I think putting a Java object as the message payload is a bad idea (COBOL, C, C++, etc.. cannot interrupt a Java object).
Although, I do like the split-screen (queues on top, messages below). I'll be adding it to Capitalware's MQ Freeware page soon.
He should bundle up the plugin with the stand-alone Eclipse RCP and make it as download so that you don't need to have Eclipse already installed.
Its free and its here:

Not sure why you would use this, if you have a copy of MQ you can install the real explorer (edit: that is many copies of the Explorer so long as you have 1 server license IIRC)
Ok it lets you browse java object messages, but as you say java object messages are generally considered a "bad idea" (tm). It is also possible to import the Explorer plug-ins into your own eclipse environment (albeit unsupported).
It does have the advantage of being based on eclipse 3.3, but the MQ7 explorer is 3.3 based so use that one when it comes out. Hopefully this will encourage IBM to provide the explorer as a separate download from the web rather than only on the product CD |

Well, choice is always a good thing.
There's MQJExplorer, WMQTool and the really good SupportPac MO71. MQ Explorer v6 is still really buggy and hasn't yet caught up to the stability of MQ Explorer v5.3.
