Hi all,

I have a queue which is having read and write in a period the MQ statistic is enabled. Using the amqsmon, I got the following result.

MonitoringType: QueueStatistics
QueueManager: 'QM1'
IntervalStartDate: '2013-02-22'
IntervalStartTime: '10.12.13'
IntervalEndDate: '2013-02-22'
IntervalEndTime: '10.12.43'
CommandLevel: 600
ObjectCount: 1
QueueStatistics: 0
QueueName: 'TEST.Q1'
CreateDate: '2007-11-14'
CreateTime: '14.37.01'
QueueType: Predefined
QueueDefinitionType: Local
QMinDepth: 0
QMaxDepth: 1
AverageQueueTime: [0, 0]
PutCount: [4, 0]
PutFailCount: 0
Put1Count: [0, 0]
Put1FailCount: 0
PutBytes: [0, 0]
GetCount: [0, 0]
GetBytes: [0, 0]
GetFailCount: 0
BrowseCount: [0, 0]
BrowseBytes: [0, 0]
BrowseFailCount: 0
NonQueuedMsgCount: 0
ExpiredMsgCount: 0
PurgeCount: 0

I expected there should be value 4 in the GetCount, but it always returns zero. I am sure that the queue depth is always zero that message is immediately consumed by the receiving application. Thanks.

Regards,
Thomas

Hasn't command level 600 been out of support for some time???
I believe that for some messages passed in memory (get waiting when put happens) the get count might not be incremented at that command level...

Hi we use the statistics on various queue managers for version 6 and when initially setting it got the same issue but it suddently started working. The only area I can not remember is if we had to restart MQ or not or if we stopped the interfaces and channels and restarted them. Have you tried any restarts?

Anyway since I did one of the above (which I cant remember which) all messages are captured in the Stats for PUT and this is verified by referencing the amount of messages show on the Receiver Channel.

Hi rammer,

I found the case is only happening when the consumer is the message broker. Is it same to you? Thanks.

"suddenly it started working" sounds a lot like "it started working after we applied an APAR or a FixPack".

"It only happens when it's broker consuming messages" sounds a lot like "It happens to any application that uses a bindings connection to retrieve messages".
