Not something I've heard of; can you post a link please?

This sounds like WMQ V5.3 or earlier

What precisely do you mean by that statement? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

What is the rationale for trying to start a queue manager Listener as a custom Windows service?

From WMQ V6.0 onward Listeners can be, and generally are, defined as queue manager objects which will run under the control of the queue manager.

As I would expect but again, why as a custom service?

Why would you expect the queue manager to display the status of something over which it has no control? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
