I want to know whether it is possible to integrate Websphere MQ & Active MQ using sender and receiver channels?

1. My client is not allowing JMS or any type of client channel connection. They want to communicate using Websphere MQ sender and receiver channels. What are the advantage of using sender and receiver channels vs client channels?

2. Do I need to have Websphere MQ to enable communication using sender and receiver channels or Can I use ActiveMQ or any other open source product.

Yes. WebSphere MQ sender and receiver channels are implemented on WebSphere MQ queue manager server instances.
