hi,
Is it possible to run saveqmgr (for qmgr object definitions) on remote windows server with utilzing the ms0s support pack(MQSC editor) from local explorer?
if so, can you please let me know, how should I configure it? |

Run it from the command line with the -r switch - it's in the documentation. Alternatively, if on V7.1 or above, use the dmpmqcfg command, which can also be run against a remote queue manager. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

As a former maintainer of MS03 saveqmgr, and as the author and maintainer of MS0S mqsc editor for MQ Explorer....
I'm excited to hear that you want to use both of them.
However, you need to think of them as, essentially, the opposite thing to each other.
MS03 and/or dmqmqcfg allows you to connect to a queue manager and extract object definitions into an MQSC representation.
MS0S allows you to execute any MQSC against any queue manager.
So, yes, you can use saveqmgr/dmpmqcfg to extract definitions from a queue manager, either locally or remotely.
And yes, you can use MS0S to execute those definitions against another queue manager, either local or remote.
But you can't use MS0S to run saveqmgr or dmpmqcfg, because neither of those are MQSC scripts.

You can also look at the Remote Administration functions available in MS0P, which I believe would let you execute a program, including saveqmgr or dmpmqcfg, on a remote machine from within MQExplorer. |
