I'm sure that were my crystal ball not down for maintenance at the moment I could quite easily tell you what the issue is. However, as it isn't available at the moment I suggest you check WMQ Client and queue manager logs to see if there's anything in them - and lack of crystal ball is also preventing me from seeing your WMQ version and other related information that might help in forming a less useful answer...

...oh, and of course the obvious question: did you independently test client/server connection to establish the configuration of WMQ was correct before trying it with the application involved?

Guess you're on V 7.1x or 7.5.x and have not yet read the new features about channel security...

How do you know that the SVRCONN channel did not start? Did you expect to see it in RUNNING state?

Do you mean your SVRCONN channel or the OP's channel? Or are they the same channel?

It's hard when neither you nor the OP have given us enough information to go on. Neither of you have said which version you're on; if it's v7.1 or v7.5 you're potentially missing a configuration step.

In either version you've not indicated what the actual problem is, or what errors you see. As my most worthy associate points out, an SVRCONN channel not being started (which the OP claims as a problem) isn't. So the questions remain:

- what actually happens when the application service is started? Reason codes, error messages, black smoke from the computer, your firstborn child growing a tail, what?

- what is recorded in the various logs at the time of the incident? Does these contain any reason codes, error messages, pictures of smoke or illustrated commercials for cosmetic tail removal surgery at affordable prices?

- Above all, what steps have been taken to resolve this other than posting here? There's no point us suggesting something which has already failed to help.

Actually define services by application team where they started the different MQ server server connection channel. when I am giving ping and telnet from one server to other is fine but when I go for the trace route that time it take time from MQ server side and on client side it shows only * * * *.

One would hope that they would have MQ working in non-production before production.

So what changes were made at the time this problem occured?

"Do the needful" - Amen to that - but charity begins at home.
