There are two Windows MQ servers each having a QM that communicates with a sender and receiver pair that enables two way communication.
Now why do these channels get a difference in sequence numbers(and the sender channels go into retrying state) frequently?? |

in my experience the sequence number is vital to keeping teh channels running correctly and should always be in sync
the only reason i know that the numbers get out of sync is that someone or something has forced a shutdown of the channels and a message is lost.
the channels need to be re-synced so that they can start back up and run correctly.
if this is being done and you are still looking at these errors then you need to check your architecture and also the administration _________________ Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard drive?

The other common cause is someone doing a delete/define/alter of one of the definitions. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

This usually has to be the receiver that is changed. If the sender is changed, it can typically tell the receiver to update it's sequence number. |
