HI
What are the disadvantages of using MQ client connections....
As per our org policies client connections are not allowed... but we are getting a few request where the client connections is being requested.
Can some one please help me list what are the disadvantages of using a client connections, so that we can better present it to the request apart from just saying its our policy...
Thanks In Advance

This has been discussed here many, many times. Begin by clicking the Search button at the top of this page. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

They are often outweighed by the advantages of using one. Binding connections have their own disadvantages.

Why are you asking us? Why not ask whoever in your org who came up with this policy what their reasons were?

As my worthy associate points out, the client v bindings discussion has been played out many times here. Seek and ye shall find. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I thought he was asking us to compare server-to-server vs client-to-server. (Which, of course, has also been discussed.)
I still prefer server-to-server with trading partners as it gives me a sense (perhaps unfounded) of more control over security and message traffic. For internal applications, I have gradually come round to being okay with client-to-server with the caveat that reconnection parameters are properly configured.
Our management loves client connections, of course - cause the price is right.
As in so many cases, the right answer is matching the business requirement to the available technology. |
