Hi All,
I need some input in making some choices during cusomization of Work Flow Server on the S/390 for use of Java API. and XML APIs (in order to invoke our java program. and the UPES activities).
1. In the manual "Customization and Administration for WF for z/OS", as per Chapter 4, page 36 (Customize Java-API) support, Table 27 . Step 5 & 6
(Decide whether to call JavaVM via LNKLST or STEPLIB) which is the option (Step 6a OR Step6b) should we chose?
Our java program runs as a program invokation as part of the process.
2. For customizing the XML APIS( I believe this is required for the UPES activities in our flow)
The manual page 38 Table 28, Step 1, asks for installing the following
1. XML ToolKIt for OS/390 V1.1
2. XML Parser for OS/390, C++ Edition
to be downloaded from www.s390.ibm.com/xml
This site has 1. XML Tool Kit V1.4 as the latest, so can we go ahead and install this version itself? ( I did not see V1.1 there)
There is XML Parser available for Java Edition. Should we use this instead of the C++ edition because we are using the Java Programs and not the C++ programs?

I have been away from the mainframe since MVS, so my knowledge may be out of date, but I would choose STEPLIB given no input by the IBM MQWF developers to choose LINKLIST. The benefit would be that you could use different JVMs with STEPLIB.
Also, is this manual you refer to available on line someplace?

Looks like this is the first WorkFlow customization outside the labs.
Murali let us know how it goes.
