Look for the "Software Product Compatibility Reports (SPCR) tool" its gonna answer you question.

As Windows 8 has just been released, you are going to have to wait for IBM to certify MQ on this version of Windows. You may be out of luck for WMQ 7.0 but in time I'd expect V7.5 to be certified in due course.

However, I have to ask why the rush? Most other business apps aren't certified for Windows 8 at this point in time.

The general concensus is that Windows 8 could turn out to be a bit of a damp squib. So I'd probably install WMQ in a VM running Windows 7 and then wait for two things.

1) For IBM to certify the product on Windows 8. This could involve remastering the produst.
2) For their to actually be a demand for business apps to run on the OS.

If it has to be the latest version of Windows then I might be tempted to install Server 2012. At least with that, you don't have to ever see METRO.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

You can run the Windows 8 compatibility checker to find that WMQ and WMB need fixes to run natively in Windows 8. Alternately, you can install WMQ and WMB in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Neither work-around will likely be supported by IBM until fixes are produced for natively running these applications on the OS.
