Using MQSeries 5.3 on Win2k Server SP2

I think I'm getting some bad advice. I'm being told starting trigger monitor from the command line is an option but if the DOS window gets closed trigger monitor will stop. is this true?

If so, how can I make sure trigger monitor is always running either as a service or in the background.

Thanks

Scott

To start a trigger monitor, go into MQServices. Right click on the queue manager name and select new->Trigger Monitor. Fill in the details. This will create a trigger monitor to run anything you want.

You can also create custom services by right clicking on "Custom Services" in MQServices and selecting New-.Custom Service.

Follow John's advice because yes, it is true. If you run the trigger monitor in a "Command Prompt" window, it will end if someone closes the window.
