Can anyone tell me if there is any impact on performace by using subflows?
I have desgined my flows using subflows for every compute node so I can reuse them. Is there any downsides (like performance) to an approach like this?
Also, what about putting TRACE Nodes in each of my subflows. Any impact on performace there also?
Do any of you do this also? |

Nope, there are no impacts to using subflows. Basically, when you deploy a message flow with a subflow, the config mgr will actually 'open up' the subflow. So, transparent to us, the config mgr is actually deploying a bigger message flow without any subflows.
Of course putting Trace nodes will have an impact on performance, since it involves reading and writing to a log or a file. However, the impact on performance is usually very small and not noticeable at all, and most people will just put Trace nodes in their message flows regardless, since Trace nodes are extremely useful if any exception should occur.
My advice - Go ahead and use all your subflows and your Trace nodes _________________ lung |
