I have the following scenario.. need to avoid pilling up of messages
Two broker in cluster in 2 different m/c .. Now broker1 goes down .. note that queue manager (qmgr1) associated with broker1 is running .. how the traffic will be diverted to broker2 via qmgr2.
How the pilling up of messages in qmgr1 will be avoided.

It won't, unless you have some mechanism to detect the Broker has failed and can get-and-forward the messages to the other queue manager, but why would you want to do that rather than recover the Broker?
And when you state "...Two broker in cluster in 2 different m/c..." do you mean that the queue managers are clustered to provide load-balancing of messages between them, or that the Brokers are in a collective, or both? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.

What kind of cluster? The answer to your question is very different depending on if you're talking about a WMQ cluster or an HA cluster (e.g. Veritas or MCSC). _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
