Hi All,
I have a message flow running on aix (5.3v) needs to connect a windows DSN. ( One of our database vendor has connectivity only from windows server so we installed those drivers in one of our windows machines and created a SYSTEM DSN ).
We want to connect to that System DSN from one of our flow which is having java compute node, but its running in AIX server.
Any help or advice highly appreciated ..
Thanks.
regards,
Santy |

It's not a DSN. It's, presumably, a database that can be addressed by a data source, said data source then having a name.
If your vendor only has connectivity from a windows machine, then you can't connect to it from AIX. CAN NOT. AT ALL.
You'll have to connect to something else from the AIX box, that runs on windows and then connects to the database.
What I personally would do is run a new broker on a windows machine, and use a message flow that reads from an MQ queue and queries or updates the database, and provides response messages.
Other people might choose to use something other than MQ to communicate with a program running on a windows box. |

If the DB Vendor is 'Windows only' then the chances are that Broker won't support it anyway.
If however, you are in a situation where the DB you have to access is running on Windows and broker is running on AIX AND it is one of the major players in DB's that broker supports then the chances are that the Datadirect drivers provided by broker will do the job for you.
goto the InfoCentre for your version of Broker and search for
'supported databases'
The answers will tell you pretty much all you need to know. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |
