Hi

If my JDBC datasource is configured to point to DB2 on Unix, everything is fine. since IBM requires a license to connect to DB2on Z/OS, we purchased the license, and put db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar into same dir where db2jcc4.jar is located. after restarting the broker, I got the following error.

Could someone advise me?

Thanks in advance! xzhou

onnection to the data server failed. The IBM Data Server for JDBC and SQLJ license was invalid

or was not activated for the DB2 for z/OS subsystem. If you are connecting directly to

the data server and using DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition for System z, perform the

activation step by running the activation program in the license activation kit.

If you are using any other edition of DB2 Connect, obtain the license file,

db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar, from the license activation kit, and follow the installation

directions to include the license file in the class path. ERRORCODE=-4230, SQLSTATE=42968, SQLState value: 42968, vendor's error code: -4230, stack trace: [com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.bd.a(bd.java:679)

Well, it seems clear:

If you're sure that the license is valid, are you equally sure it's activated on z/OS?

Hi Vitor,

Thanks for reply. I am sure that license is valid. but I am not sure if/how it is activated on z/OS. do you have any idea how to verify or activate it on z/OS?

Thanks, xzhou

If the license is valid, another possible root cause is incorrect pathing to the DB2 client libraries (ie. multiple client versions installed on the system).

That question is much better directed to the DBAs who administer the DB2 instance on z/OS, who will possess not only the knowledge but the ability & access to perform this.
