hello ,
I'm working on replacement HP server by Linux ( with MQ 7 server running on it)
the plan is to build server with temporary IP , install MQ , define all QManagers and during the deployment to switch IP address from old to new server . Will it work ? do I have to update any MQ config files with IP ? or just to bring listener up on new server

It depends on how you start the listener - i.e. what options you give it.

You'll also find that MQ channels need resetting.

And that you've hosed up your MQ cluster if you have one, unless you've taken a number of steps beforehand.
