I am running MQ v7.0. The MQ Reference with MQ Explorer states that on the MCA page we have:

USERID
MCATYPE
MCANAME

I have entered in 'MyName' into the USERID field. Then, displaying the channel via runmqsc - I see that 'MyName' is the value assigned to the MCAUSER parameter. What is even more confusing is that this is a Sender channel, and, according to documentation, MCAUSER is not valud for Sender channels?

What documentation are you looking at? Post the URL here.

If you search google for wmq+mcauser, you will discover http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv6/v6r0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.mq.csqzae.doc%2Fic11820_.htm
Which states:
Message channel agent user identifier (MCAUSER)
This attribute is valid for channel types of:

Sender
Server
Receiver
Requester
Server connection
Cluster sender
Cluster receiver

Unnerving, isn't it, when two references contain conflicting information?

I'm not sure why you decided to use the USERID(string) attribute.

The URL you cited states also that:
Quote:
USERID(string)
Task user identifier. The maximum length is 12 characters.

This parameter is used by the message channel agent when attempting to initiate a secure LU 6.2 session with a remote message channel agent.

Yes it is.
I am using MQ Explorer. If I Right-Click on my Sender channel and then look at the MCA page - I see the first field is titled "MCA user ID". This is the same naming of the field for all the other channels. Is this field the field for MCAUSER or USERID?

You mean, when one is more up to date than the other, and applies to a completely different level?
