Hi,
am using IBM websphere MQ explorer(installation 1) version 7.1.0.1.
Am trying to connect local Q manager it is throwing the error "could not establish a connection with the queue manager" with 2538 error code.

Could anyone help me in resolving the issue.

Are you trying to connect in client mode? If yes, make sure that you are specifying correct host name in MQSERVER env.

With MQv7.1 you can have multi-installed versions of MQ
Make sure your environment is set correctly as you could be pointed at a primary base version and not installation1, hence you cant find the queue manager

check /etc/opt/mqm/mqinst.ini or the registry for windows

Use the setmqenv to change environments
Use dspmqver and dspmq -o all

There is a support pack for environment switching
