We have CA Introscope v9 with the "powerpacks" for MQ and WMB.
Before I have a go with it, is there anyone on here who has some experience with configuring and using it? |

zpat, Have you played with the Introscope MQ agents yet? Just curious.... We are an Introscope shop but not for MQ monitoring. |

We are currently using CA wily Introscope with Wily.
I think Wily version is 9.x
MQ version is 7.0.1.2
Since MQ monitoring for Wily is afterthought, I am not really impressed with this tool.
It took considerable time for Wily resource to set-up monitoring and there are frequent bugs and NOT to mention the Wily support for MQ, they have no Idea about MQ.
Issues:
1. For some of the Queue Manager restarts, the agent stops collecting statistics, you have to restart the agent to re-connect again when the queue manager comes up.
2. As per the Wily resource --> No support for multi-instance queue managers (still under confirmation, Wily resource is working with Wily)
For MI, when fail over happens, you have to restart the agent to reconnect to new instance.
Wily is relatively new product here, and I am not sure its because of the product or the relatively naive Wily resource the experience so far is not so great with MQ and MB montiroing.
Most of the Wily monitoring is used to monitor JVM's and that seems to work fine . _________________ IBM Certified Solution Developer - WebSphere Message Broker V6.1

You do know that 7.0.1 GA is now 7.0.1.3?
I would urge you to upgrade to 7.0.1.8... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

We have multiple versions for MQ:
7.0.1.2
7.0.1.5
6.xxx (I know these are obsolete, but it is a long story and it is one of IBM products requirement )
We use Wily to monitor only 7.x.x version MQ.
The one for 7.0.1.2 are on DC's and we have plans to upgrade them soon to 7.0.1.7
Wily 9.x version supports MQ 7.x versions above. _________________ IBM Certified Solution Developer - WebSphere Message Broker V6.1

MQ 6 is a fully supported and not obsolete version of MQ. At least for a few more months.
But I would love to hear what (current) IBM product still requires MQ 6 and does not allow MQ 7. _________________ Peter Potkay

Right v6 support will be withdrwan sometime in Sept of this year I guess, but there are no plans yet on upgrading to a newer version.
The product I am talking about is WSE (WebSphere Sensor Events)
and ITS (?? dont know what it means though ) _________________ IBM Certified Solution Developer - WebSphere Message Broker V6.1

This is the product page for WSE v 7.x
http://www-01.ibm.com/software/integration/sensor-events/sysreqs/index.html
It shows MQ v7 as supported, but I guess the version we are using is older version and that does not support v7.
MQ is tightly coupled with the product and they have no plans on upgrading to newer version of WSE/ITS. _________________ IBM Certified Solution Developer - WebSphere Message Broker V6.1
